Chevrolet To Jump Into The UK Supercar Market

Its seems after the success of the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro which features as Bumblebee in the latest Transformers movies, it seems Chevy have decided to take the Camaro and inject a few steroids and enter into the Supercar arena with the pretty impressive looking VR Camaro.

“But now this, the VR Camaro, is heading to our shores in full UK spec. As you'll have noticed, it's quite a bit more than just an imported Camaro: the two-door muscle car has been thoroughly worked over by Danish design consultancy Hermann and Brandt, which has opted for something of a Lambo Reventon aesthetic.

That new front bumper, with its massive air intakes, is made from carbon fibre, as are the side skirts and the new ducktail-style rear spoiler - which means it'll be a bit lighter than the stock Camaro.

It'll be quicker, too. Though we're yet to have figures confirmed, the shadowy figures behind the VR Camaro say they will fit the 6.2-litre V8 with a UK-built supercharger, which should push power north of 600bhp.” – Taken from Top Gear

VW Launch The Most Powerful Golf EVER!

Large Image Volkswagen have just uncovered their latest piece of engineering genius at the Frankfurt motor show! The new Golf R, it’s actually powered by the  266bhp 2.0-litre turbo engine that's in the Audi S3. It'll propel the four-wheel-drive Golf to 62mph in 5.5 seconds if you spec the DSG transmission, or 0.2 seconds slower if you'd prefer a manual ’box.

It seems VW are realising even though the industry is in recession, there is still a big demand for high powered sports models.  I’m sure we’ll see the R’ theme move into all the models with the Golf and Sirocco both having the super quick R models now in the the ranges.
